Tourism Product Development Lead (2020)
I was the Tourism Product Development Lead as a sub-subcontractor for USAID's Economic Security Program in the Former Soviet Country of Georgia.
I lived and worked in the Former Soviet Union for nearly four years and speak conversational Russian, which was an asset to the project. I worked in neighboring Armenia and am familiar with the Caucusus region. In an attempt to differentiate itself from its bordering countries, the plan was to focus attention on the country's unique cultural assets and natural resources. My role was to assist key tourism stakeholders in developing four new tourism products/services targeted to the recruitment and retention of high-value tourists. I worked briefly with key tourism organizations, the private sector, associations, and government agencies to understand and build their capacities and meet the needs of the sector. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the initial trip was cut short and the consultancy terminated due to my inability to travel to Georgia for the remainder of the project. |
